Revitalisation of Knepper power plant

In 2017, Uniper, a subsidiary of EON, put the 59-hectare brownfield power plant site with 750,000 cubic metres of enclosed space out to national tender. The Hagedorn Group was awarded the contract for the strategically located site on the A2/A42/A45 motorways. Two cities and two district governments are involved in the inter-municipal project. The revitalisation process is scheduled to take two to three years.

During this time, the entire Hagedorn process chain will be utilised: demolition, dismantling, remediation of contaminated sites and civil engineering as well as the development of a sensible subsequent use concept for commercial and logistics purposes. Interested project development companies are expected to be able to build on the sites offered with building rights in 2020.
